26 weeks

Saturday, April 27, 2013

How far along:  26 weeks

How big is baby:  baby now weights about 1 2/3 lbs and measures 14 inches from head to heel

Weight gain:  I'm steadily gaining about one pound a week, and the same was true for this week. Up approximately 13 pounds total.

Stretch marks: none

Sleep: sleep was not so good this week. I now rely on a pillow on either side of me, but even that didn't help much this week. I tossed and turned a lot and woke up feeling not rested most days.

Cravings/aversions: nothing specific, still just sweets in general

Maternity clothes: yes

Movement: crazy at times. My whole belly jumps around sometimes and Rodney and I just watch in awe.

What I'm loving: a new burst of nesting energy. It feels so good to get things done

Symptoms: sore ribs, sore gums, and more Braxton Hicks contractions. I've been so surprised because with Isaac's pregnancy they started at 20 weeks and came almost every day after that. This time I had my first at 22 weeks and only one more between then and this week, but this week I had several, including one night where I got one every single time I rolled over in bed.

What I'm looking forward to: seeing him again at my next ultrasound in 2 weeks

Best moment of the week: finally getting the phone call saying I passed my one hour glucose tolerance test (9 days later!)

How I'm feeling: so stressed and anxious about getting Isaac's new room ready and moving him over. I know it's nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I'm so ready for it to be done. We're painting now and struggling to find furniture we like for his room, but then we still have to do transition him over and I'm nervous about how that will go too. I just want to wake up and have it all be done.

Items worth noting this week:

- My belly button is officially an outie now. Not super bad, but definitely noticeable in most shirts.
- My linea nigra showed up this week. It's still pretty light, but I expect it to get darker.
- baby has been hiccuping now. It took me a couple of times to convince myself that's what I was feeling, but he has them usually once or twice a day now.
