How far along: 22 weeks
How big is baby: 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost one pound
Weight gain: 8-ish pounds total
Stretch marks: nope
Sleep: not great this week. I sleep great for the first few hours but the second half of the night is spend trying to get comfortable, mostly tossing and turning. I'm experimenting with pillows between my legs and under my belly, but really I just want to sleep on my stomach.
Cravings/aversions: still loving strawberries!
Maternity clothes: yes
Movement: movement changed a bit this week. I noticed one day (maybe Tuesday or Wednesday) that I hadn't felt him as much that day, but when I started really paying attention it was not as strong or noticeable as it had been. This went on for a few days, and I assumed the baby was just in a different position and I couldn't feel him as much. Now I'm starting to wonder (or hope) if my placenta is moving away from my cervix and into a position that blocks more of his movement. Maybe it's wishful thinking, because I would love nothing more than to not have to worry about this placenta previa, but I'm not sure. He's pretty active in the mornings between the time I wake up and actually get out of bed, and he kicks a lot in the car too. I think he's still breech because I feel lots of little kicks very low sometimes.
What I'm loving: Isaac struggled with some 2-year-old moments this week but when he's good he's really good. I'm loving being his mommy and the thought of having 2 special little boys.
Symptoms: still the back pain and some extra tired days this week
What I'm looking forward to: Easter candy!
Best moment of the week: buying new bras that fit better. Let me add that I bought a new size this week that I have never bought before, even during Isaac's pregnancy. Wow!
How I'm feeling: As long as I'm not having cramps or random pains I'm feeling really good for the most part (physically). My self-image is struggling a bit, however. I feel like my belly is huge, way bigger than it "should" be. I've come to realize very few people know what to say to a pregnant lady. Never say anything about her size, big or small. The best comments are "You look great!" or "You look cute!" Don't let your eyes bug out of your head if you haven't seen her in a couple of week and comment about how much she has "bloomed". I struggle daily with that, but I try to love my belly and the life growing inside of it.
I haven't mentioned yet that we're calling this little guy Clark for now. If you've been reading my blog for a long time, you'll remember that we called Isaac "Bruce" when I was pregnant (short for Bruce Wayne, aka Batman). We're not huge comic book fans or anything, but it seemed appropriate to call this one Clark (Kent, aka Superman). In the name department, I think we have almost settled on a name, but once we kind of sort of realized we both agreed, I got scared and we don't talk about it at all now. We didn't tell anyone Isaac's name before he was born and we're still undecided about what we'll do this time. I like keeping it a secret, but I also want Isaac to know the name and get used to calling him that.
