31 weeks

My poor belly has a flat spot on the front, but it's really starting to round out.

Bruce and I had an exciting day today.  Unfortunately, exciting is not a positive term here.  I've been noticing more Braxton Hicks contractions, maybe one or two a day, which is perfectly normal.  Last night I had 3 in the hour before I went to sleep, but I didn't think much of it.  I woke up at 4 am to use the bathroom and noticed another contraction.  At that point, I stayed up and started timing them.  They were coming around 12 minutes apart, so around 5 every hour.  They didn't hurt, and weren't getting stronger, but I was getting concerned.  I called the on-call doc at 7:00 and he suggested I wait it out until the office opened at 8, then call and come in to be checked if I needed to.  I waited, and over the next few hours the contractions started slowing down, but still didn't stop.  I finally called the office and the nurse practitioner had me come in just to check things out.

I went in this afternoon and they did a fetal fibronectin test (fFN), which could supposedly give my chances of going into labor in the next two weeks.  It came back negative, which means I'm in the clear for the next 2 weeks (or so).  She also checked my cervix, which is still nice and closed.  I had a feeling the type of contractions I had were not the kind that would change my cervix,but it's still nice to know for sure.  I'm still having a random BH contraction every hour or so, which is annoying, but normal.

In other news...

I have started to notice that I get tired really easily now.  In the first trimester I would feel tired just sitting around the house, but now all it takes is a simple day of running errands and I am ready to collapse after a few hours.  My appetite is also increasing (which also reminds me of 1st tri).  I eat until I'm full, and a couple of hours later I'm looking for more food. 

I went to my SIL's baby shower last Saturday and it made me that much more excited about our first shower coming up this Saturday.  I am so ready to have things to put away in Bruce's room.  It has been sitting decorated but empty for so long.

Bruce and I are exhausted after our long day today, and will be going to bed early tonight.  I can't believe I have just 2 more months until I meet my little boy!
