27 weeks

Hello 3rd trimester! It's so nice to see you. (Please take note of how low this baby is. He's nice and comfy down there. I'm not totally convinced I will have a noticeable "drop" at the end of the third trimester like most women do.)

We made more progress with the nursery this week. I'll be doing a big reveal when it's finally complete, so no pictures for now. Rodney worked very hard on our accent wall, and I sat and watched him and told Bruce how hard his daddy has worked in his room. Rodney is determined to make sure the room is perfect. I know a nursery is just a room, and who knows how much he'll actually sleep in there, but it means so much. My parents also brought our glider that we had ordered from Babies R Us. All we have left to do now is find something for the window, put up a few shelves on the wall, and add the finishing touches.

Sleep is hit or miss for me. Saturday night I tossed and turned all night because my back was hurting. The only comfortable position is on my back, but I worry about doing that too much since you're not really supposed to. I'll definitely be asking the doctor about this next week. Sunday night I basically cried myself to sleep because my back was hurting again and I was exhausted from the night before, but I ended up sleeping really well after that.

Rachael suggested I try a Snoogle pillow, and I've thought about it several times, but I'm not sure that we have enough room in our bed for that, or if I would get too hot or irritated with it. Currently I'm sleeping with a regular pillow on both sides of me, so it's always there when I flip over, and I always have one for back support.

This week brought the return of heartburn, and one super itchy spot on my belly. I woke up scratching it this morning, with no clue how long I had been doing it. The best part of the week...someone told me that I look like I'm only gaining weight in my belly. That's always nice to hear.

And now for the sake of comparison, let's look at the beginning of the second trimester and the end of the second trimester.

Woah! I cannot even imagine how I will look in another 13 weeks. I take pictures from this angle every week to compare, too, but I find them much less flattering than the mirror pics.

Third trimester, here I come!
