How far along: 37 weeks
How big is baby: the average baby weights 6 1/3 lbs and measures a bit over 19 inches, but this little guy weighed in at an estimated 8 lb 2 oz yesterday!
Weight gain: approximately 24-25 lbs
Stretch marks: none
Sleep: It's so difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position these days. Also, I try to fit in a nap every day, sometimes 2 on Saturdays when Rodney is home. I'm that tired.
Cravings/aversions: none
Maternity clothes: love my maternity clothes
Movement: I thought he slowed down a little last week but he's back to moving around like crazy this week
What I'm loving: Being close to the end.
Symptoms: heartburn is back in full force, along with acid reflux at night that actually interferes with my sleep at times. I have a horrible numb/tingly spot at the top of my bump right below my breasts that bothers me when I lay on my sides at night and in some sitting positions now too. It's a horrible tingly pain that comes from the baby/uterus pushing on certain nerves, or maybe nerves stretching with the skin. I don't know, but it's horrible.
What I'm looking forward to: sleeping on my stomach again! Unfortunately it will still be a few weeks after my c-section before I can do it again, but I miss it so much. Also my baby shower with girls from church this week.
Best moment of the week: Seeing baby boy on the ultrasound this week. We didn't get to see much, but it always makes it feel so much more real when I see him moving on the screen.
How I'm feeling: This fatigue is kicking.my.butt! I seriously spend most of my day on the couch or bed while Isaac plays around me, or we read books together. Sometimes I'm so exhausted after taking a shower or drying my hair that I have to lay down. I feel bad complaining about it all the time, but it's so unreal. I really hope it changes when this baby comes out.
My appointment went well on Friday and the ultrasound showed my placenta had moved even further. At 19 weeks it was completely covering my cervix, at 28 weeks it had moved to 1.5 cm away, and now at 37 weeks it was measuring at 7 cm away from my cervix! It is completely out of the way if I wanted to try a VBAC, but I'm sticking with my repeact c-section, and it's also in a great position for the c-section too.
I regularly spill sugar into my urine. I have every appointment this pregnancy and every appointment with Isaac's pregnancy. I passed both glucose tests for gestational diabetes, and they tested my blood sugar a few weeks ago and it was fine. They says it's just "normal" for some pregnant women, and I guess I'm one of them. Anyway, the doctor we saw Friday (a different one than my normal) said to me "I see you have some sugar in your pee pee." Pee pee??? You're a doctor and I'm 30 years old. Really? Rodney and I have been laughing about it all weekend.
