20 weeks

*I'm a day late...I wrote this Tuesday but didn't get to post until Wednesday.*

20 weeks marks the halfway point and brings with it the cold from hell.

We are having a boy! The ultrasound tech was able to tell right away on Friday, and there is no doubt about it. Rodney and I are both thrilled. I thought it was a boy the whole pregnancy, up until about 2 weeks ago, when I changed my mind to girl. After that all I could think about was girl names, ideas for a girl nursery, and raising a little girl. However, in the past 16 weeks I have had 4 dreams that it was a boy, and none about it being a girl.

I've always said that if we ever had a son he would look exactly like Rodney. I can just feel it. Oddly enough, I can actually see a resemblance to him in one of our 4D ultrasound pics. I know it's early, but that just sealed the deal in my mind. Rodney will have a mini-me. I'll scan some pictures when we get home from vacation and share them with you.

I mentioned last week that I had a sore throat that would not go away. Tuesday after I wrote that post, it suddenly and completely went away after about 5 days of torture. Wednesday I was fine and Thursday I started experiencing typical cold symptoms. I'm on day 6 now and it has only gotten worse, not better. The worst part is that I'm on vacation right now. If I don't feel any better tomorrow I will put in a call to the doctor. This definitely sucks but I'm still trying to make the most of my vacation.

Last week I found a fantastic deal on the video baby monitor I've had my eye on, so we ordered it right away. It felt strange, because it was really the first baby purchase R and I have made, but exciting at the same time. It should be delivered today, and I can't wait to get home to play with it.

Boys are wonderful! I have 3 nephews and think little boys are so much fun. I've also heard they're easier when they hit the teen phase since they don't PMS ;)

If I had a baby monitor, I'd probably use it to spy on the monsters until the kids came along. Give it a test drive lol.

Congratulations! I'm from a family of girls and I hope one day we can add a boy to the mix!

Stephanie, R and I have already talked about how we can use the monitor to see what Cash really does in his crate!
