What if...

Do you ever play the "what if..." game? I have written before about how R and I met when we were in college together but didn't start dating until months after we graduated. We have talked about what it would have been like to date each other in college, go to the same classes, study together, etc. (Well, we technically did these things anyway, but we imagine doing them as a couple). I think I would have loved it, but I don't let myself dwell on it too much. I'm so glad everything worked out just how it did. We each dated other people in college, and that allowed us to become the people that we are today.

We had a slideshow at our wedding with pictures of us growing up and pictures of us as a couple. I chose the song "A Page Is Turned" by Bebo Norman because I love the lyrics and the story it tells. It talks of a boy and a girl growing up, then a couple coming together.

"And the God of second chance
Picked him up and He let him dance
Through a world that is not kind
And all this time, preparing him, the one
To hold him up when he comes undone
Beneath the storm, beneath the sun
And now a man, here you stand
Your day has come

...

And the God of second chance
Picked her up and He let her dance
Through a world that is not kind
And all this time, preparing her the one
To hold her up when she comes undone
Beneath the storm, beneath the sun
And grown up tall, here you are
Your day has come"

I think about that stuff ALL THE TIME. It's crazy how one little decision can have an impact on your life. If I hadn't gotten sick of waitressing in college and decided to lifeguard than I never would have met C. :)
