Oh, the joys of being a puppy parent. We're learning new things already.
A few days ago I left my phone near Cash for just a few minutes. Rodney came to me with the phone and said, "Well, the good news is I found your phone. The bad news is Cash found it first." I'm notorious for leaving my phone laying around and not remembering where I left it. My 6-month-old phone now has 2 big scratches on the front and 2 small teeth holes in the back. It came out pretty good, considering it could have been much worse.
Friday night we were out in the yard with Cash and he was running around having a great time. He ran under the fence into the cow pasture right behind our house. No big deal, he likes to do his business up there. He did his business, then kept running up the hill. I saw him roll around and I laughed because that is his favorite thing in the world - rolling in the grass. Rodney's parents arrived right at that time and he ran down to see them. It was then that we discovered he was not rolling in the grass, but instead rolling around in COW POOP. He was nasty! We took him to the side of the house and gave him a bath (which he hates!) and let him go. Would you believe within 30 seconds he ran up there and did it again? He did. From then on (after another bath) he was attached to the leash. We like to give him freedom because our house is far from the road and he usually stays close to us, but he has lost his freedom for a while.
Yesterday we took him to the vet and to Rodney's parents' farm for the first time. They have an older German Shepherd and she didn't quite know what to think of little Cash. Hopefully they can be good friends.
Today we're driving up to see my family for a picnic lunch with all of us. We're taking Cash along since it will be at a park. It should be an interesting day.
