21 weeks

How far along:  21 weeks

How big is baby:  about 12 ounces and 10.5 inches long, the length of a carrot

Weight gain:  approximately 6-7 pounds total

Stretch marks: none on the belly

Sleep: not too bad this week

Cravings/aversions: still sweets and strawberries, which is like nature's candy if you get some really sweet ones. I've done much better curbing my sugar cravings this week.  I'm also loving ginger ale (with crushed ice). Also, let's add pizza to the aversions. We've had it the past 2 Friday nights and both nights I've woken up in the middle of the night with painful gas/indigestion. I think I'm going to stay away from pizza for a while.

Maternity clothes: yes

Movement: lots. I can tell Baby Boy is getting bigger and stronger every week.

What I'm loving: I actually noticed this week that I'm not losing nearly as much hair in the shower these days. That plus my much needed haircut this weekend makes my hair feel great. I'm so not looking forward to the postpartum crazy hair loss. Enjoying it now while I can.

Symptoms: Every evening around the time I put Isaac to bed or soon after my back starts hurting, in the same place every night. It's low and more to the right side. I'm not sure if that's related to my sciatic nerve, but it gets pretty painful to bend over at all. I guess I should be glad it only happens at the end of the day.

What I'm looking forward to: going back to the doctor. 5.5 weeks between appointments is way too long

Best moment of the week: I actually got to see kicks from the outside this week. Some tiny, some bigger, but so cool.

How I'm feeling: So much better the second part of the week than the first. Last Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I was feeling pretty crampy with lots of stretching and pulling. I was really feeling pregnant and it made me pretty discouraged that I was going to feel like that for the next several months. Thankfully I have felt much better since Tuesday and I'm chugging along pretty good now.
