18 weeks

How far along:  18 weeks

How big is baby: a bell pepper or a sweet potato, about 5.5 inches long and almost 7 ounces

Weight gain:  approximately 4 lbs total

Stretch marks: none on the belly, minus one small suspicious mark near the belly button. Plenty on my hips and thighs from last pregnancy. I'm still unsure if there are any new stretch marks there or not.

Sleep:  Sleep was hit or miss last week with lots of coughing at night.

Cravings/aversions: I still can't drink coffee. A friend bought me decaff and my mom bought me half-caff in the first trimester and I haven't touched either of them. No real cravings, but I did request my MIL's chili for lunch Sunday and it really hit the spot. I've also been loving some Cuties lately.

Maternity clothes: yes to pants and most shirts, but I'm still fitting in a few longer pre-pregnancy shirts

Movement: daily kicks and small movements, most noticeable when relaxing on the couch or lying in bed.

What I'm loving: I'm feeling this one kick quite a few weeks earlier than I did with Isaac (anterior placenta) and I love it.

Symptoms: Just the usual stuff. I'm typically up only once per night to use the bathroom.

What I'm looking forward to: our big ultrasound on Friday. Boy or girl? I still think girl. I'm so excited to find out, but I'm really trying too hard not to think about it until at least Thursday.

Best moment of the week: Getting a prescription for my sinus infection and getting the results from my quad screen...normal.

How I'm feeling: Last week I was down and out with a sinus infection, my first in years. Pregnancy is really taking a toll on my immune system. I finally called the OB and got a prescription for a z-pack while made me feel better within the first 24 hours, but I'm still not perfect yet. The antibiotic has made me feel nauseated at times, and I'm hoping that ends with my last dose and isn't just pregnancy sickness coming back. I don't feel quite as fatigued in general, which gives me hope for the rest of the second trimester. We all know energy level goes downhill in the third, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
