Big changes for Big I

I've said for several weeks now that Isaac changes and does something new every day, but holy cow the past 2 days have brought more changes than I can handle.

Last week he started getting on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth.  I also saw him (once) last week sit up in his crib from laying on his belly.  He perfected that technique yesterday and now sits up in his crib at the beginning of naps.  It took him 45 minutes to fall asleep this afternoon because he kept rocking on all fours and sitting up.  It usually takes about 20 minutes these days, but he's just way too excited about what he can do with his body now.  Also during this 45 minute nap prelude he almost pulled himself up using the side of the crib. He started pulling himself up on me yesterday, so I knew the crib was coming soon.  We lowered the crib this evening.  In the process of lowering the crib and testing out the new level, I realized he was going to pull himself up and eventually let go, fall backwards, and hit his head on the back of the crib.  So we made the decision to remove the breathable bumpers that were on the crib and replace them with the "real" bumpers that came with our bedding set.

We also needed to move the camera that goes with the video monitor.  Up until now, it has been resting on the corner of the crib, but now that he is sitting and standing, he could easily reach it and the cord -- a major safety hazard.  We mounted it up on the wall so we can now see the whole crib, on a much smaller scale.  It's definitely going to take some getting used to.  You can see the camera on the wall above his hand in the pic below.

Other changes that happened yesterday and today... Isaac got a few new pairs of pajamas, big boy pajamas (shirt and pants, not footed sleepers like he has always worn).  He still wears the footed sleepers too, but it's so strange to see him looking like a big boy.  We also packed away his infant bathtub and he took his first bath in his new inflatable duck tub tonight.  He loved it!

I'm both excited and nervous about these changes.  I'm having a hard time keeping up with how fast he's changing, and understanding that my little baby is turning into a big boy before my eyes.  He's so much fun right now.  Exhausting, but fun.  I have a feeling that he's only days away from crawling, and I know that will take it to a whole new level of exhausting.  Bring it on!
