7 months

7 months!  It seems like every day I am reminded that Isaac's baby days will be over soon and he will never be this age again.  I know we have lots of fun ahead of us, but I'll miss this too.  He is changing and developing so rapidly, I can hardly keep up.

Isaac's hair hit a growth spurt this month!  I love his soft blond hair.

The majority of Isaac's wardrobe is made by Carter's, and he is wearing the 6 month size in those.  I feel like he's going to outgrow them soon, but his 9 month clothes are still mostly huge on him.  He is wearing some 6-9 and 6-12 in other brands.  He is still in size 3 diapers.

We offer 4- 7 oz. bottles per day, but the majority of the time he doesn't drink it all.  Even first thing in the morning when you would think he'd be super hungry, he still leaves .5-1 ounce.  In total, he probably gets on average 26 oz. per day.  He gets fruit (and sometimes oatmeal) in the morning, vegetables for dinner, and sometimes a little something for lunch.  Some days I think he's ready to add lunch and other days I'm not so sure.  Lunch is usually when I offer finger foods for him to explore.  We recently started yogurt, and I may offer that for lunch some days.

Isaac has finally decided it was time to start rolling.  He rolled back to front one time in his crib right after he turned 6 months old.  I checked the video monitor and was shocked to find him on his belly!  He would occasionally roll front to back but it never seemed intentional to me, always accidental.  Last week he finally started rolling with purpose.  He is a pro at tummy to back, and just started rolling back to front this week (although he mostly does it in his crib after a nap or in the morning).
He rolled over onto the blocks and I did what any good mom would do... take pictures!
I wouldn't exactly call him "mobile" because he isn't crawling or scooting yet, but he can definitely completely change positions if you look away for a minute.  He's learning how to go from a sitting position to his hands and knees/belly.  We spend a lot of time on the floor doing tummy time encouraging him to try to crawl and scoot.  He has mastered turning in a circle and sometimes scoots backwards, but he hasn't figured out the forward motion yet.

My sweet little boy's personality is showing more and more and it's not always so sweet.  We still love him, though.  He is certainly not afraid to let you know when he doesn't like something.  Some things he's not particularly fond of include laying down for a diaper change, getting out of the bathtub, having his face wiped after a meal, and putting on sunscreen.  Some things that he loves are standing holding onto something, blowing raspberries, eating, and watching Cash, Zeus, and Sophie (his face lights up when they walk into the room).

Isaac has always loved his paci, but only uses it for sleeping.  This month was also introduced a small blanket (lovey) that I hope can one day ease the pain of taking the paci away.  That may happen sooner than I expected.  Occasionally I will see him rub the blanket on his cheek as he falls asleep, but more often than not he stuffs the blanket into his mouth and chews or sucks it.  That doesn't soothe him like the paci does, though, so I'm not sure if it would be an acceptable replacement right now.  I'm afraid to try.  He has been chewing/sucking on the washcloth in the bathtub for a while now, and sometimes does it with a burp cloth too.

He still has no teeth, and doesn't really show too many signs of teething.  Lately he has been drooling like a faucet and chewing on his fingers, but I still can't see any teeth under his gums.

This is such a fun stage!  Happy 7 months, sweet boy!
