36 weeks

This week brought more third trimester nausea.  I was very lucky in the first tri and generally felt a little nauseous around dinnertime every evening, but once I forced myself to eat, I felt better.  A few weeks ago I experienced some random 3rd tri nausea, but only for a couple of days.  Now I get random bouts of yuckiness a couple of times a day, sometimes keeping me up for a couple of hours after a middle of the night pee break.  Not fun.

I can feel just how big Bruce is now.  His favorite thing to do is stick his butt out at the top of my belly, and sometimes he pushes so hard and leaves it there for so long that it hurts.  At this point he is gaining about one ounce per day, so almost half a pound per week. I was 9 lbs at birth and R was 7-ish lbs and a month early.  I'm thinking Bruce could be a big boy, but we'll have no more ultrasounds to get a weight estimation.  As one doctor told me when I expressed my concerns over a big baby, "If you did get the 'big baby gene', maybe you also inherited the ability to birth big babies."  My brother was also 8 lbs 14 ounces.

This week you get an extra belly pic, one that shows off my little outie belly button.

I was trying to find something to wear to church on Sunday and I put this tank top under a sweater that had 2 buttons and was open around the belly.  Since this tank is super stretchy, it really shows the belly button, and the way the sweater fell really sort of "framed" it.  I wasn't too comfortable with that and switched to a thicker tank top.  A few minutes later R got dressed and asked me, "Does this look ok?  Can you see my belly button?"  I love my husband so much, and he has really had a great sense of humor through this whole pregnancy.

Other random items from this week...rolling over in bed is nearly impossible, as is putting on a pair of socks.  I really miss being able to bend at the waist!

Also, I think starting next week I'll do my weekly posts on Wednesday instead of Tuesday since that is when my doctor appointments are scheduled for, and I'll be going weekly from now until delivery.
