Let me first start by saying my sweet little boy is back...for the most part. The terrible twos that I spoke of in my 22 month post only lasted for a week or 2, praise the Lord!
Isaac is in a big mama phase right now, which is a huge change from normal. He has always been a daddy's boy and could take or leave mama, but this month he only wants me. He wants me to hold him all the time, and he is content to spend most of the day sitting in my lap. I love it, and I'm trying to enjoy it, even when there are other things I need to be doing. Also, he now alternates between calling me mama and mommy, as opposed to only mama.

I'm constantly amazed at how he is growing and changing. Even though he is only saying a few 2-word phrases, we can almost have mini conversations now. I look at him every day and wonder when he got so big and when his features changed. His eyes are now a green-blue (mostly green) like mine, and I have no idea when that happened. People may say he looks just like Rodney, but he will always have his mama's eyes.
He loves Toy Story right now. I gave in to my "no character shirts" rule and got him a shirt with Buzz and Woody on it and he loves it.
He is learning his colors and how to count to 10. He gets blue right almost every time, and is pretty consistent with red, yellow, green, orange, and pink. He can say 2, 6, 8, 9, and 10 in the right order when you count, and he can tell you the "a-c" part of spelling his name. He can sing the first part of the alphabet song, Jesus Loves Me, and the other day I heard him singing the first part of the clean-up song (thank you, Mother's Day Out! I certainly didn't teach him that!)
His sleep is all over the place these days. He goes to bed at 7 and wakes up anywhere from 5:45 to 7:00. His average is probably 6:30. His naps used to be consistently 1.5 hours, but lately he has been sleeping closer to 2 hours (or more!).
Bathtime is a huge struggle for us right now. It started about a month ago, I think around the time he had a really bad diaper rash and it hurt his bottom to sit in the bath. I understand that, but I think it traumatized him to the point that he now screams during bathtime from beginning to end. He used to love to sit and color in the tub, but that's over now. We've tried the big tub in the master bath, bubbles, fizzy color tablets, showers, nothing helps. He screams like we're killing him. We've finally accepted defeat and now make bath as quick as possible. It's by far the most stressful part of our day. I just need someone to tell me that it's completely normal and just a phase.
This picture was taken on the first day that we tried the big tub, and it worked for the first day only.
Sweet, fun, adorable Isaac, mama loves you so much.
And if you've made it this far, here's a video of Isaac terrorizing Zeus (and asking to watch Mickey at the end).
