It's all about the candy (and Charlie Brown)

Up until now, Isaac really hasn't had any candy at all, and hardly any sweets. We'll occasionally give him a bite of a cookie or he'll eat a cupcake at a friend's birthday party, but we don't regularly indulge. Even last year at Halloween (2 days shy of his first birthday) I think he might have had one sucker. He got a taste of candy corn at a birthday party about a month ago and has had his mind on candy ever since.

On Saturday when we told him we were going to church to get candy, he talked about it the whole drive there. Saturday was the annual Trunk or Treat event at our church. We took him last year but we didn't actually get candy. We just stood around and handed out candy with our small group. This year we walked around to each car and got candy, then visited with friends. It was a miserable, drizzly rainy evening, so we didn't stay too long. It was a good prep for Halloween, though.

We came home and sorted through the candy (lots of suckers) and watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. We showed this to Isaac for the first time last week and he immediately loved it. He loves watching "Noopy" and Charlie Brown. That makes his daddy and I happy, too, because we also love the Charlie Brown holiday episodes.
