I didn't post a list of goals this year, but one of my "goals" is to read more. I go through phases where I love to read and go to the library once a week, and then I'll go for months without picking up a single book.
Isaac and I made a trip to the library today. Confession: it was our first completely solo trip out. By that, I mean this is the first time I have left the house with him, gone in somewhere with him and no one else, and come home with just him. Sure we have left the house alone many times, but they have all been trips to the doctor's office where we met Rodney, or visits to Rodney's office. It felt empowering. I think we'll do it again soon.
The thing is...my son loves his routine. Lives and dies by it. So when he only naps for 10 minutes on the way to the library and 10 minutes on the way home, he's a pretty cranky boy to actually put down for a real nap. We're working on it.
Oh, and the reason I'm trying to get out of the house more (besides getting him used to going places), our new stroller, the City Mini. I love love love it and we finally got the car seat adapter for it, which means popping Isaac's carrier out of the car and into the stroller. It's too easy. Plus it's a pretty awesome stroller for when he's older too. (Although I should mention that the Moby wrap was plan A for the library today, but that turned out to be a big FAIL. We still haven't used the Moby in public, but I hope to soon.)
So now that I have thrown around a bunch of random thoughts, I think I'll go read one of my new books since Isaac is actually asleep in his crib for the moment. Oh, the crib. That's a whole different post.
