2 months

Isaac is 2 months old today!

Month 2 went by just as quickly as month 1, yet I can hardly remember our first few weeks with him.  It feels like he's always been here.

We won't know his 2 month stats until our appointment on Tuesday, but I'm guessing he's somewhere in the 10-11 pound range, and around 24 inches.  He still looks so long to me, and he's just now really fitting into his 0-3 month clothes without looking like he's swimming in them.

We still call Isaac "Little", but he also goes by the nickname "Biscuit" these days.  All of these nicknames come from Rodney, and I start calling him that before I know it.

Isaac is a champion sleeper, often sleeping 10 hours straight per night, sometimes more.  He only stays awake for an hour or maybe a little more after every bottle before he is ready for a nap again.  Because of his long stretch of sleep at night, he's only getting 5 (sometimes 6) bottles a day, around 5 ounces each.

Last week we started transitioning Isaac from breastmilk to formula.  I knew I didn't want to exclusively pump for too many months, so I'm glad I at least made it to 2 months and gave him a good start.  Unfortunately the first formula we tried made him super gassy and fussy, which is rare for my sweet boy.  That made me feel super guilty for not pumping anymore, but once we find the right formula for him I think we will all be happier.

Bathtime has greatly improved over the past month.  He loves it so much now and I can't wait until he is old enough to play with toys in the bathtub.

Isaac starting giving us "real" smiles when he was 5 weeks old.  They were few and far between, but I knew they were real social smiles.  For the next 2 weeks he was pretty unpredictable with the smiles, but around 7 weeks he started giving them out left and right.  He loves to smile for me and the grandparents, but Rodney seems to get the biggest smiles and grins.

We pretty much kept Isaac at home for the first 6 weeks or so, but we've starting venturing out of the house with him more lately.  At the grocery store last week the man behind us in line was smiling and waving at Isaac.  We took him to a small local restaurant for lunch one day and the owner and waitress kept coming over to our table just to talk to him.  I love seeing people enjoy him...as long as they keep their distance and don't touch!  I've never been this paranoid about germs in my life.

Being a parent is one of the most stressful things I've ever done, but it's also very rewarding and I'm loving every minute of it.
