babies are like tax refunds

I mentioned to Rodney the other day that while I was waiting to see my doctor last week, one of the other doctors in the practice walked by, looked at Isaac, and smiled and said, "Beautiful baby".  I told R that I bet the doctors like seeing the babies after they have taken care of the moms (and babies) for so many months.

His response:  "Yeah, that sounds about right.  That would be like me enjoying seeing someone spend their tax refund after I did their tax return.  Right?"

No, not really.
