weekend snippets

Rodney was in heaven this weekend with the start of college football. Saturday, as he was lounging in his chair taking in all the games, he yelled something at the tv like all men do. Cash cowered away like R had yelled at him and R told him, "It's alright Cash, it's ok to yell at football."

I felt like a horrible wife this weekend. We went to the first Vols game of the season on Saturday, a 12:20 kickoff. Even though I knew we would be sitting in full sun for several hours, I didn't bring sunscreen because I don't burn too easily and I figured I would be ok (yes, I know, I should have worn sunscreen anyway, just because). While I was thinking about myself and my own skin, I failed to remember my fair-skinned husband. His face and neck got so burned! He did find a great tip on the internet, though. If you put vinegar on a sunburn it takes away the pain and quite a bit of redness.

We went to the zoo on Friday and got some great pictures with our camera. My favorite animals are the zebras, giraffes, and elephants, but my favorite part of the zoo is this sign:

As we observed the lions sleeping, I couldn't help but think about my own cats who doze like this most of the day.

We had a very busy weekend but it was great. I loved having Rodney all to myself for 4 whole days. My week ahead seems very boring in comparison, but R's rec league volleyball starts this week, so that's something to look forward to.
