I've mentioned before that my Gran was fantastic in the kitchen. She published her own cookbook and had a weekly column in our small town newspaper. Many years ago she entered a baking contest at our town's annual Apple Festival...and won! Gran's famous apple sticks are what I like to call apple sticks of goodness. I was given the recipe when I got married, and mom actually showed me how to make it last year. This week I had the urge to make the apple sticks, and did so by myself. It was messy, tedious, and time-consuming, but they turned out so good!
