Sleepless night

I had the worst night of sleep ever. Usually the cats will sleep at the bottom of the bed on the body pillow. When I was single and living at my condo, Sophie decided it would be great to sleep with me, sometimes on the pillow beside me, sometimes right beside me on the bed. She hasn't done it in months.

This morning around 3 am Sophie decided she would be my BFF and curl up right beside me. She took up about half of my half of the bed. There I was squished between Sophie and Rodney. I'm the kind of person who needs her space when she sleeps. I tossed and turned and layed still and dozed on and off for more than 2 hours. Finally around 5:30 I decided to go to the guest bed. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. Rodney found me (awake) at 6 when he got up, so I moved back into our bed. I finally slept from 6:45 to 9:45.

The simple solution would have been to kick Sophie out of the bed, but I always feel bad doing that. I know she's just a cat, but it's so rare for her to want to be that close to me, I feel like I should let her. It definitely won't happen again, though. I'm lucky I didn't have anything to do today. No more cats in the bed.
