Isaac-isms

I decided to make a more dedicated effort to write down cute and funny things Isaac says this year. He's at such a fun age right now and I want to remember these things later.

"Do you think Ethan will be at my 5 birthday party? What do you think I'll look like when I'm 5? Maybe taller?" (then he stood taller on his tiptoes)

Me: Can you help me put this play food up since we're not using it right now?
Isaac: Sure, mommy! I can help you do anything you want me to!

Isaac: I really love Papaw. Do you love Papaw?
Me: Yes, I love Papaw so much.
Isaac: Is he your grandson?
Me: No, he is my father-in-law.
Isaac: I thought daddy was your father!

(as I walk into the room)
Isaac: Hello, mother.
Me: Hello, son.
Isaac: Um...I think you mean Isaac.

He also often tells me that he can't wait until he's bigger and can use big sharp knives, then he can cook lunch and dinner with me and daddy. Ha!

I have to brag about my sweet Isaac for a minute. He has really hit a sweet spot with age 4. Isaac has always had such a sweet nature about him, but it's only getting better as he gets older.

Age 3 brought some challenges, but those are all behind us for the most part. A few months ago he started remembering his manners again. He started obeying the first time and was generally very friendly and content. Isaac is the best big brother to Levi. He is very tolerant of any of Levi's little brother tendencies (taking his toys, messing things up). Isaac is always loving on Levi, giving him hugs and kisses and pulling on him a little too roughly. I'm constantly reminding him that Levi doesn't really like to be touched like that. Although, I think Levi is starting to come around. I find him snuggling up to Isaac more and more lately.

Dinner time used to be a huge struggle with Isaac. He is very picky and would refused to even try what we were having for dinner, which often meant he went to bed fairly hungry (I always offered fruit or something else healthy that he would eat). A few months ago he started trying what I served without us even pushing him too hard. He was still pretty resistant to vegetables, but even that has changed lately. A few nights ago he walked into the kitchen and said, "What's that smell? Yum! Green beans!" He thinks it's fun to count bites of vegetables (one at a time) and will often eat up to 20 peas. It's amazing to see the difference in a year. He also encouraged Levi that night when he was not wanting the rest of his green beans. "Come on Levi, they're not yucky, they're really yummy."

He loves puzzles, play dough, and board games. His favorite games are Zingo and the Thomas Great Race Game. He also enjoys baking with me.
