We are just over 7 weeks away from my first baby turning three years old. I can't believe it. He is the coolest kid I know.
I wrote a post about Isaac when he turned 2.5 in May but I never finished or published it. I really need to do that, just to have. I wanted to jot down a few things about Isaac now in case they are already different by November.
Isaac continues to crack us up on a daily basis.
Anytime he asks to do something or go somewhere and we say no, he says "Maybe one day we can..."
"Maybe one day we can go to the park", "Maybe one day we can watch Chuggington."
His newest phrase is "Oh, shoot!" Rodney had to leave early one morning this week before Isaac woke up. When I went in his room he told me he wanted to go see Levi and Daddy. I told him Daddy had already left for work and he said, "Oh, shoot!"
The other day I was explaining something that I felt was a little complicated to him (I honestly can't remember what it was now). When I finished, I asked him if he understood what I was saying. He scrunched up his face, thought for a minute and said, "I fink so!"
He'll often ask "Did I have fun...?" doing something, which is his way of saying he had fun doing something. "Mommy, did I have fun washing the cars with Daddy?"
"Isaac, did you have fun washing the cars with Daddy?"
"I did!"
Or he'll say, "Did I have a good day at school?" and the same conversation happens then too.

He tells everyone, "I have a new baby brother!", especially people who already know like my mom or Rodney's mom.
He loves to sing and does so much of the day. Particularly, he makes up songs to the tune of Frere Jacques. I'm not even sure where he learned it. It's on a cd that we used to listen to a lot but we haven't listened to it in a while and the made up songs are fairly new. Most of the time the "songs" are just the word mommy or baby over and over.
Along those same lines he thinks it's funny to replaces words with "mommy", especially when we read books. "Five little monkeys jumping on the mommy!" "If you give a mouse a mommy!"
He is obsessed with the tv show Chuggington and his favorite episode ever is one on our DVR called "Heave Ho Harrison" (or Parrison, as he says). It's about a train that gets stuck in a snow drift and all the other trains have to pull him out. He requests to watch that episode all the time and uses his trains on his train table to act it out. I love hearing him playing by himself and recognize what he's playing. His imagination is really growing!

Haha, cute. My 2-1/2-year-old does the same thing where she replaces words when we're reading.
