weekend project #1

My first weekend "project" was pretty simple.  The second one is not quite finished so it will be a few days before I share that one.

Next weekend at church is "promotion Sunday", which is when the kids move from one class to the next in Sunday School.  Isaac won't move yet until he's walking well, which will probably be around the beginning of the year.  We absolutely adore his Sunday School teachers, but they have decided to no longer keep the nursery and join a small group again.  It is a husband/wife team and Rodney works with the husband, so we know them well and they were one reason we were able to put him in the nursery when he was 5 months old.  It was nice to drop him off with someone we knew.  Yesterday was their last week, so I wanted to do something to thank them.  I have been waiting for a reason to make chocolate chip cookies I found on Pinterest, and I finally found it.

Oh my goodness, they turned out sooooo good.  To show you how little I bake, I had to send Rodney out for baking soda at 8 pm, then call him and add all-purpose flour to the list while he was there.  I'm not a baker, but I pretend to be one.

Next I made a cookie tin using a Pringles can, also found on Pinterest.

Here's my version:

I used a random paper from my stash and improvised on the ribbon since I didn't have enough to go from top to bottom.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Now if I can just keep myself from eating the rest of those cookies.

those look delicious! i've actually never baked chocolate chip cookies, which sounds crazy now that i think about it.

also, i read your previous entry about your weight loss. have you considered doing measurements instead of going by weight? i think it can be more encouraging especially when you're building muscle as you work out.
