self-discovery

Some things I learned about myself last week:

I have a horrible sense of direction. Unless I could see out a window and see which way we were moving, I couldn't tell front from back in the ship.

Don't trust me with valuable items like cameras. We thought we had lost our brand new underwater camera the morning of the cruise. We took the shuttle from the hotel to the cruise port, then realized the camera wasn't where we thought it was, so we took the shuttle back to the hotel. It wasn't in the room, so we took the shuttle back to the port. We later found it in my suitcase, although I have no recollection of putting it there. (Although I did make it through several days with our DSLR strapped to my back. There's no way I'm letting that baby out of my sight.)

I also lost our small camera case and a memory card that had the first 2 days worth of pictures on it.

I can't take a straight picture to save my life, even when I have a horizon line as reference. Or maybe, especially when I have a horizon line as reference.

Thank goodness for Photoshop.
