Randomness

Just dropping by with some random thoughts that are on my mind...

  • I'm getting quite frustrated with my contact lenses lately. I was not blessed with perfect 20/20 vision, but instead quite the opposite. I've worn glasses since I was in the 2nd grade and contacts since 9th grade. Every year at my annual checkup my wonderful eye doctor asks me how my contacts are doing and reminds me that we have plenty of other options if these ever start getting uncomfortable (I have astigmatism, so my eyes require special lenses). This year I decided to take him up on his offer since I've been noticing more discomfort with my lenses. He sent me home with a new brand and wanted to see me back in a month for a re-check. I had to call back for a sooner appointment because they burned so bad! Strike one. I went back yesterday and left with yet another new pair. Strike two. This pair feels very dry in my eyes, even though they are marketed as having more moisture than most contacts. I'll tough it out 2 weeks until my next appointment, but I'm seriously considering going back to my old brand. My former contacts at their worst were still better than the new ones I've tried. All of that to say...I'm frustrated!!!

  • R has only recently decided he loves to play golf. Honestly, this seemed to happen overnight. He has a simple set of club that he bought at a pawn shop years ago, and they suit his needs just fine. Now you can find him in the yard hitting practice balls every evening and trying to set up a tee time every weekend. I told him I would gladly approve selling his motorcycle and buying a brand new set of golf clubs. He still chooses the bike over golf.

  • I think Cash is entering the teenage phase. I wrote a couple of weeks ago about his destructive tendencies, but until recently it has just been toys. Now I can't leave him alone for 20 minutes without coming back to find something shredded. Yesterday it was some napkins and my rewetting drops (for my stupid contacts). The other day it was paper and cat toys (my fault for leaving them in his toy box). It's getting to the point where I have to put him in his crate just so I can take a shower. I haven't had to do that in months! I miss my well-behaved puppy.
