We've had an interesting weekend. R left work at noon on Friday and we had planned on running some errands. In the process of leaving, we discovered that our doorknob, which had been "sticking" for a few weeks, was stuck. The door wouldn't close. Great. R beat it with a hammer and we were able to leave our house and successfully lock the door. We added an extra stop to our list of errands: go to Home Depot for a new doorknob and dead bolt set.
We both got haircuts on Saturday. Picture to follow in a few days.
Yesterday we went to a church potluck dinner at a church member's house. This is the church that R grew up in and the one that we started going to when he moved back here before we got married. If everyone is there, we may have 35 people. With the exception of R's cousin and husband, we are the youngest couple, followed by R's parents as the next youngest. They're all very nice, but I just don't feel like I fit in. When we got to the house, all of the women were gathered in the kitchen, not really working, just talking. The men were outside on the patio shooting the breeze, so R and I went out there. I like listening to the old men tell stories. I hope the women didn't mind.
Today brings another day of plans with R...and I get my camera back! We're driving the hour to have lunch with my family (another hot dog and hamburger cookout), then driving back to watch football with friends tonight (go Vols!).
