enjoying

These days are difficult. Young children can be draining. This is Rodney's busy season at work and he typically leaves the house at 6 am or before and gets home after 6 pm, plus a half day on Saturday. Levi has been waking up for the day around 5:15 or 5:30, but sometimes he stirs or needs his paci around 4:20 and I can't go back to sleep after that. My days have been starting very early and it frustrates me.

Rodney was trying to talk me down this morning after my day once again started much earlier than I wanted it to. At one point he said to me, "Enjoy our boys today."

That really struck a chord with me. So many parents would love to be home with their children all day but can't for various reasons. Yes, it's exhausting, but it's also a blessing. I need to work harder to see the blessings sometimes.

The blessing of starting our morning slow and relaxed with Little Einsteins and coffee. The blessing of a non-mobile baby who is content to sit and play with toys.

A clean house that doesn't have toys thrown everywhere...yet.
