Today was Isaac's first day back to Mother's Day Out and my first day getting both boys ready and out of the house. Granted, I didn't have to do much to get Levi ready, just feed and change diaper, but Isaac had more than enough to make up for that since it was the first day. Backpack packed, lunch packed, nap mat and blanket in the car. I did forget his water cup in the fridge which made me feel like a horrible mom, but I did the best I could. (Rodney works really close to the MDO church so he ended up buying a cup and taking it there. Daddy saves the day!)
I got Isaac dressed before Levi woke up, then Rodney fixed his breakfast while I fed L. After Rodney left for work it was just me and the boys.

our new normal
I turned on Chuggington (Isaac's new OBSESSION) in the bedroom and propped Levi up since he was content (don't worry, I was only steps away in the bathroom). That only lasted for a few minutes before the crying started and had to continue for a few minutes while I loaded the car. I moved Levi to the swing where he eventually drifted to sleep right as it was time to go. Maybe I'll try the swing first next time.
I took the obligatory "first day of school" pictures with Isaac, which went just like normal. Isaac will either smile and look away, or look at me and not smile. Go figure.
A semi-successful first day is in the books. Thursday will be super exciting with dropping Isaac off, taking Levi back to the doctor, then taking myself to the doctor that afternoon.
My new normal.
