24 months

Two whole years. Two very long years, but oh so short at the same time. I don't remember what our life was like without him.

Isaac has become such a fun little boy! This is my favorite age so far. He's fun and funny and great to play with and talk with. The tantrums are few and far between. His heart is sweet and sensitive. I hear many parents talk about their "strong willed child", but Isaac is not that. I love that he can understand almost everything we say to him, even if he can't articulate this thoughts back to us.

Let's start with the stats. He weighs 27 pounds and is 34.5 inches tall. He is wearing 2T pajamas, 24 month shirts, and 24 month or 2T pants. His shoe size is 6.5 and he wears a size 5 or 6 diaper, depending on the brand.

He sleeps on average from 7 pm to 6 or 6:30 am. He naps at noon for anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours, with 90 minutes being his average.

His favorite food is macaroni and cheese, followed closely by fruit and pancakes. He also loves eating his gummy vitamin every morning.

Isaac can identify most colors and all of the basic shapes. He can "sing" a few songs by finishing the line if you stop short. ("The wheels on the bus go..." "round and round!"

He is learning to count and can correctly say "8, 9, 10" in the right order. If you ask him to count something he'll probably say "2, 3, 2, 3!" or "3, 3, 3!"

sick little boy
Isaac sometimes sits on the potty, but still isn't a huge fan. He has only had success twice, both times after waking up dry from a long nap.

whatever works, buddy
His current loves are Toy Story, Cars, and Thomas the Tank Engine. He also enjoys watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Isaac is obsessed with motorcycles, helicopters, airplanes, and trucks, and tries to identify them by the sound. He can get it right most of the time. He often thinks that loud trucks are motorcycles, but that's an easy mistake.

He goes to "school" (mother's day out) 2 days a week and really enjoys it. He loves talking about his friends and teachers and often asks to go to "cool" when he wakes up in the morning.

Bathtime has finally gotten a little better and he only screams when you pour water over his head to wash his hair. As soon as that part is over he continues to play happily with his toys. We are so thankful this has changed from last month.

Isaac was thrilled to turn 2 years old and turn his carseat around. We followed the AAP's recommendation to keep his seat rear-facing until 2 (or he outgrows the height or weight limit of his seat). It was not always easy, and I did receive some questions/teasing from friends, but I'm darn proud of it. I probably should have kept him rear-facing since he's well under the limits of his seat, but I set 2 as my goal and we made it. He never had a problem riding backwards, but he loves riding forward. He talks the whole time and tells us everything he sees.

We love our sweet Isaac so much and thank God for him every day.
