moving update

We were originally hoping to close on our house on Monday of this week, but we had some delays. We finally closed and got our keys this morning!

That was 3.5 hours ago and already we have had some excitement. Rodney is working at the new house now while I'm waiting for Isaac to wake up. So far he has discovered air conditioning that isn't working, yellow jackets in the crawl space, a broken kitchen faucet from the previous owners (foreclosure), yellow jackets in the crawl space, and the biggest spider Rodney has ever seen living in the garage. I cringe when my phone rings because I don't want to know what else is wrong. The house was a foreclosure and we bought it "as is", meaning we have to suck it up and deal with it. It's kind of funny, because we had just been talking a few days ago about replacing the kitchen faucet in time, but I guess the time is now.

Our house has multiple stacks of boxes, plus lots of items that haven't made it to boxes yet.

Yesterday I got started early by packing away our food storage containers and mixing bowls. I didn't have the packing tape close by, so I left the box open and moved on to another room. After a few minutes, I realized I hadn't heard from Isaac in a while, and I had a bad feeling about it. Sure enough, I walked into the kitchen and found this:

{I cannot wait to get rid of that carpet!}
He was enjoying it so much, I let him play for a few more minutes. He tried on a hat, but was much more interested in me wearing the bowl as a hat. It didn't fit my head as well as it did his.

I am so excited to be receiving my new lens for my camera today after my original lens broke last month. I have no idea why I waited a month to replace it, but I'm ready to have it to take some pictures of the new house.

Congrats on the house! I do know how 'fun' packing with a kiddo is. Can't wait to see pictures!
