Isaac is going through a phase where he loves to clap and cheer for himself whenever he does something that he's proud of. He walked down the steps by himself? Clap and yay! He picked his toys up? Clap and yay! He sat on the potty? Clap and yay!
We bought a little potty last weekend, just for practice to get him used to it. He sits on it every night before bath and occasionally in the morning after breakfast if I think about it. He has yet to produce anything in the potty, but he loves sitting on it and tries to carry it around the house.
Isaac loves when we give him something to put in the trash can. He gets so proud of himself and claps and cheers. A few times now I have heard the lid on the trash can close but can't see anything big on top. I hope he doesn't throw away something important one day. This morning we both had a small bowl of crackers for a mid-morning snack and I gave him my bowl when we were finished. Later when I was fixing lunch I found both bowls in the trash can.
I totally forgot to say this in Isaac's 20 month update, but he has learned how to say his name. When you ask him "Who are you?" or "What's your name?" he points to his chest and proudly says "Ida!" It's adorable! He can also identify himself in photos.
