4 month appointment

We went to the pediatrician yesterday for Isaac's 4 months well child checkup.  Here are his stats:

14 lbs 3 oz - 21st percentile
26 inches - 82nd percentile
head circumference 43.5 cm - 93rd percentile

So we still have a long, skinny boy with a huge head.  It's funny, he has grown so much in the past month, everyone notices it, and I even think he's starting to look a little "chunky" in places, but he is still on the low side of weight for his age.

I asked the pedi about his lack of interest in rolling over and she didn't seem concerned.  She said now that babies sleep on their backs some just don't roll over from their tummy.  She placed him on his belly and commented on how strong he seemed, and said he could probably roll over if he wanted to, he just doesn't want to.  I think we've got a stubborn one on our hands.

I talked to the doctor about his cradle cap and some eczema I had noticed on his body that seemed to be getting worse.  I told her about our efforts at treating the cradle cap and how nothing was working, and when she saw his head and his body, she said it was definitely time to see a pediatric dermatologist.  I knew his eczema was getting worse, but it looked really bad under the fluorescent lights yesterday.  Thankfully it doesn't seem to bother him and he doesn't try to scratch at it, but it still needs to be taken care of.  She also said the eczema was probably affecting his scalp too and that's why the typical dandruff shampoo treatments were not helping the cradle cap.  I kind of suspected that, so hopefully we can get that taken care of too.

I called the dermatologist today and the first opening to see the doctor was April 13, but our pedi said anyone at that practice should be fine to see, so we're going to see a PA on March 24.

We'll be starting solids soon, probably this weekend.  I can't wait for those precious photo ops!
