Gotcha!

I mentioned yesterday that today is a very special day. One year ago today we welcomed a very special little guy into our lives. You all know and love him…our little man in black, Cash. Let’s talk a walk down memory lane and look at the past year with our growing puppy.

We brought him home last July 13 after originally going to his foster home to meet his brother. Cash chose us and the rest is history. Life with a puppy was exciting, and we had a blast playing in the yard every night until dark.

Our little puppy grew quickly, although we had no idea what size he would be full-grown. At our last visit to the vet in February he weighed in at 45 pounds. I’m sure he’s no more than 50 now and probably won’t get any bigger.

He was small enough to lay on me on July 14.

He didn't fit quite as well only 2 months later on September 23.

Cash has acquired many nicknames over the past 12 months, most of them senseless and silly, but they seem to stick. We used to call him mister…whatever (mister pucky, mister baby), now everything is M R…whatever. Yes, we say the letters M and R. His most popular current nickname is M R Tuckleford. Rodney made it up and I have no idea where it came from.

He recently decided that he loves pillows and likes to lie on them like a human. In the past he would not get in "his chair" if the pillow was in it, but now he uses the pillow to his advantage.


Today we are celebrating our first year with Cash and look forward to many more. We hope to give Cash a human sibling or possibly even a canine sibling one day, but for now he is our baby. Happy "Gotcha Day", buddy!
