I was so thankful to have our family together this Easter. Last Easter Rodney was on a mission trip halfway around the world. I was on the front end of 10 days by myself and the beginning of 5 days of no contact with him at all. I came home from church last year and was bombarded by (seemingly) millions of smiling family photos on Facebook. It was tough and I was so happy to have us all together this year and take our own family picture.
My mom came to our house on Friday for a day together and helped us dye Easter eggs while Rodney was at work. I was thankful for the extra set of hands. Isaac loved it so much! He was actually very gentle with the eggs. We put Levi in his booster seat with plastic eggs, but that wasn't good enough...until we brought out the stickers. He is obsessed with stickers right now, so that kept him quite happy while Isaac dipped his eggs.
Sunday morning we woke up and did our normal Sunday thing. Rodney goes to church early 90% of the time to pray with our pastor and some other deacons, and this Sunday was no different. I got myself and the boys ready then spent some time trying to get a decent picture of them. Levi was not in the mood, but Isaac cooperated.
Isaac went to Rodney's parents' house after lunch and we put Levi down in his crib, but it was a no go. He took a 30 minute nap at church, which completely ruined any chance at a normal nap. I understand that he was tired and rocking him to sleep gave the nursery workers one less child to worry about on an already hectic day, but I wish someone would realize that it ruins his real nap. Anyway..after letting him "rest" in his crib, we got Levi up and went to the farm for some playtime, then went to an early dinner at Cracker Barrel with the grandparents. Levi was in a crazy happy mood despite his early 30 minute nap and had us all cracking up.We filled our bellies then went back to the farm to open the boys' Easter baskets from Mamaw and Papaw. They got spoiled, as usual. :)
