Summer is coming to a close, and I've been spending some time looking back on it lately. I didn't blog any of our fun summer activities, but we stayed pretty busy and made a fun time for ourselves, even at home.
The month of June was jam-packed with activities, so we'll start with that. We spent a lot of time outside in June when it wasn't unbearably hot yet.
I got out the water table exactly one time this year.
But we bought a cheap sprinkler that got plenty of use.
We also invested in a few water guns (or squirt guns, as Isaac calls them)
The swing was a big hit with Levi during the spring and early summer before he was too mobile
We went to the zoo in June with my parents, brother, and his kids. It was Super Hero day and children got free admission if they were dressed up. Isaac wore a Superman shirt with a cape that my mom made for my brother many years ago.
We visited our local splash pad with friends and Isaac thought it was the best thing ever. Levi didn't quite feel the same way.
The last fun thing we did in June was a family get-together/BBQ. We had some family over one afternoon and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, but the real fun started after lunch. The water balloons came out, and shortly after that the rain started. The kids made the most of being in their bathing suits and played in the rain. We have a big dirt spot with no grass in our yard and it soon became a mud puddle that Isaac completely destroyed. I couldn't help but enjoy it and take pictures. That's the stuff memories are made of.
And my very favorite picture from June that is still the background on my phone...
