life update

I have been thinking about blogging a lot for the past 3 weeks, but I just can't seem to find the time or energy to sit down and write out my thoughts. We/I have been so busy lately, and that's so foreign to me. I tend to be a little introverted, preferring my own personal time at home to large groups and busy busy go go go. My schedule has changed quite a bit over the past couple of months, and that's ok too. Isaac goes to Mother's Day Out 2 days a week, I keep Lyla 2-3 days a week, Isaac and I usually go to the park with friends after MDO at least once a week, I've got mom's group once a week, I've been eating dinner once a week with a friend while our husbands are at church, not to mention all the craziness that comes on the weekends, especially in the fall. Our weekends are jam packed from now until at least the first weekend in November. I went from one event to the next this weekend and barely had a chance to sit down. Lyla isn't coming this week so it will be me and Isaac all week, and I'm ready for some down time.

- We spent a few days at my parents house last week while Rodney was at a work conference. My mom and I started by going on a shopping trip while Isaac was at MDO on Thursday. We took him to the outlets with us a few weeks ago and had to return a few items this time. It was much easier and faster without him, so we were able to hit up quite a few more stores. I don't think my mom and I have done anything alone like that since Isaac was born, so that was nice.

- My mom has been saving my old Cozy Coupe for 20+ years with the hope of seeing a grandchild use it one day, and Isaac absolutely loved it. I wish I had pictures, but I never even thought of it.

- I keep thinking about putting my fall decorations out but I'm having a hard time finding the motivation. I think it's because I've barely decorated our new house and I have no idea what to do about holiday decor. The old house was easy...I generally decorated the same way every year, but I have to find a whole new way to do it this year.

- Isaac is in a big Toy Story phase right now. I love it. He likes watching (parts of) the movie at times, but he really loves the characters more than anything. We found little figurines that he thinks are the best thing ever. We also got him a small stuffed Woody that he sleeps with and carries almost everywhere. I'm finding that it's going to be hard not to spoil him when I find so many things that I know will make him happy.

We almost lost Woody in the mall last week. Thankfully we didn't get too far before realizing he was not with us.

- As I was hanging up Isaac's new fall shirts in his closet I noticed a trend. Do you see it?

I've always liked the layered look for shirts, but I don't think I subconsciously chose all of these. I think that's just what the stores are full of these days. I have only bought a few shirts so far that are not like this.

I've got so much more I want to share...our visit to the fair, a house update, and Isaac's 23 month post should be coming soon.
