Isaac is so funny these days and is generally happy most of the time.
He is working on getting some new teeth. His left lower canine broke through last week and the right one is not far behind.
His favorite food is either fruit ("foof") or macaroni ("ya-ya"). He especially loves blueberries, grapes, and strawberries, all of which he calls "buh-buh". Blueberries were the original buh-buhs, but now they all get lumped together.
Isaac's favorite person in the world is Papaw, Rodney's dad. He loves going to the farm and feeding the cows with Papaw. Whenever he picks up something and pretends to use it like a phone, we used to ask if he was talking to Papaw. Now he'll put something to his ear and say "Hi-dee! Papaw!", not exactly saying hi to him but letting us know that's who he's talking to.
Isaac is becoming more and more attached to his blankie every day. He has been sleeping with his Aden + Anais Issie blanket since he was 6 months old, but he is really showing more attachment to it all the time. I grew up loving my blankie, so I love seeing him find comfort from one too. This month he also started sleeping with a small Elmo doll. He showed a slight interest in it one day so I put it in the crib to see what he thought. He doesn't touch it once it's in the crib with him, but he insists that "Eddie" comes in with him every night. I also started trying to cover him up with a large Aden + Anais swaddle blanket but he rolls around so much that it doesn't quite work. He loves for that blanket to come in the crib too, just like Elmo.
One day this month we were outside watching Rodney mow the yard and he randomly put his fingers in his ears to block the noise. Rodney and I stared at each other, each of us wondering where he learned that from. Not us! He now does it occasionally when he hears the vacuum or hair dryer.
We have reached the can't-turn-your-back-for-a-minute phase. Isaac has recently started getting into anything and everything he can find. He will empty containers of their contents, open bottles of lotion or shampoo, pull floss out of the package, unroll the toilet paper, or (my favorite) throw cat litter out of the box. It has been 10 months since he started crawling and he's just now discovering how much fun cat litter can be. We've had to gate off both litter boxes to keep a curious toddler away.
He loves Daddy a lot right now. He asks for Daddy as soon as he gets up in the morning, and Daddy is the only person he wants when he falls and gets hurt. I like it when Rodney puts him to bed because he will actually sit in R's lap and let him books for a while. With me he just rolls around and refuses to sit still.
