hot

Isaac's newest word is hot. It's his first word that he doesn't really use in context.

Whenever I stand at the stove and prepare lunch or dinner, he insists on being held so he can see what is going on. He knows it involves food and he wants to see. I started telling him it was "hot", even though I knew he wouldn't really know what that meant. Now when he's hungry or knows it's time to eat, or when he sees me to walk to the kitchen to get dinner ready, he'll say hot.

Yesterday my mom and dad came over to see Isaac and brought lasagna for dinner. We ate later than normal because we were waiting for Rodney to get home from work, and Isaac was hungry. The lasagna baked for almost an hour and he was getting impatient. He kept running into the kitchen saying "hot! hot!" So basically, hot is his new word for food.
